Having ignored the spate of ‘end of year lists’ that have been blossoming all over the blogosphere of late, on the basis that no-body really wants a reminder of how many good albums they managed to miss this year, I decided to give you something a little different, though let’s face it not radical, to see in the new year. This’ll come in the form of 3 or four feature on artists we’re hotly tipping for 2012 the first of which is the London mastermind Nzca/Lines. We’ve interviewed and hyped this chap before but what better opportunity to do it again than on the day he drops his album teaser.
Although said teaser hardly gives you much of a flavor their are a few leaked tracks here and there which do and which we think you should be honoring with some heavy rotation. Glitching into your headphones like an etherial blast of long-lost radio waves it’s hard not to compare some of the sounds to, 2011 scene stealers, Metronomy but that’s not to accuse him of imitation. Indeed with his light touch and gorgeously bonkers lyrics Micheal Lovett is hard to pin down as anything other than a shining beacon of twitching talent well worthy of our backing for the new year.
