Bos Angeles’ latest track, Pretend For You, is surf rock at its most introspective. It still sounds like it was written for the beach but, rather than the glossy sand of California, the drab shingle of Devon. In a way we actually prefer it. It feels like its drawn from some real experience. You can almost see the gaggle of drenched holidaymakers eating their ice-cream in a plastic fortress of wind buffers.
