There’s a certain kind of guitar music that always strike a chord. Noah & The Whale nailed it on their latest Lp, Wolf Gang came close to the mark with their debut and now Australian native Wons Phreely is getting out ears all flustered with his take on it. Latest track ‘The Night Has An Alibi’ is all youthful yearning, lyrics bristling with anxiety and guitars driving with the kind of sound that makes you want to up sticks and hit the road. It’s a winning formula which I can’t wait to hear more of. It also helps that Won’s has one of the most unique voices I’ve heard since starting the site.
