One of the things about writing about new bands is that we get sent a lot of demos. Some good, some not so much but nearly always a bit too rough and ready for a full post. Which is a bit of a dilemma because we like writing about the newest bands and there’s nothing fresher than some scuffed up and rough around the edges track recorded in a bedroom.

Which is basically why we’ve started this. I’ll probably still only post these kind of demos on rare occasions but at least they’ll be there for you to give a listen and hear the first step in the recording process of any song. Wherever possible I’ll also post up the finished version when/if it’s recorded.

Kicking things off is ‘Pillowcase’, I know very little about the band, only that they’re planning on hitting a studio over the summer and that it’s a one man mission (for now at least). ‘Brain’ is a scuzzy, brash and oddly melodic demo which reminds us of our favorite distortion peddle aficionados ,Fanzine. To us that’s a pretty good place to be with a first recording. Given some studio time and a bit of an iron, getting rid of wrinkles and whatnot,  we could soon be hearing some seriously sweet sounds.
