Ah, that good old fashioned institution the ‘Indie Supergroup’. Somewhat strangely, despite the huge quantity of these that spectacularly flop, they’re still being formed. Take for example ‘Divine Fits’, fronted by Dan Boeckner of Handsome Furs and including members of Spoon and New Bomb Turks they’ve actually, and i’ll be honest slightly surprisingly, come out with a pretty fresh track. Titled ‘My Love Is Real’ it’s a grooving synth laden number with the kind of slightly yelpy vocals that are much better than they seem on paper (CYMBALS being a case in point). Worth a spin at least.
