Châteaux, don’t forget the little hat on the A or they will not be best pleased, are something like Manchester’s (slightly delayed) answer to The Drums. Which honestly is only because whenever they sing ‘Oh, Darling’, which as you can imagine they do a lot on the eponymous song, I’m convinced they’re about to launch into a cover of Book Of Revelations (oh darlin’/you were the son of an evil man etc etc). That’s more or less where any easy comparisons end though. Châteaux, seriously though don’t forget the little hat, are pretty unique in the densely saturated English scene. Pushing a blend of slightly muffled vocals, hi-life guitars and absolutely epic melodies they might just be my newest musical obsession. At least for as long as this sun stays out.
On a side note this is one of the acts Tarek Musa is working with, he has a proper ear for the buzz-bands.
