Glaswegian Cur$es is one of the best bedroom-producers we’ve heard in a long while. Taking inspiration from Kanye West, who he apparently really really loves, Niall Morris is hardly your average dub-step churning remixer. His creations, with their restrained use of samples and orchestral finesse are nothing like what you might expect from a kid who puts Yeezy on a pedestal.
Little Bear, our favorite of his tracks, kicks off with a computer generated swarm of strings offset by rhythmic clicks and shuffles that give the song it’s percussive backbone. Its the sample that really makes this song so perfect. Pitched at just the right level above the swarming instrumental it’s a simple flourish that pulls the track out of beige simplicity and sets it up as something quite special.
