Jethro Fox is someone we’ve been confidently predicting massive things for for a while now. With every new song he drops we’re even surer that he’s just weeks from the centerfold feature his music so richly deserves. The problem, if you can call it that, is that his music is the Sausage, Chips and Beans of the music world. Its beautifully executed, harmonically perfect and satisfyingly rich but the prominent feature (however clever the songs might actually be) has always been how simple Fox’s music is. ‘Before’, probably his best track to date, is the sort of song that on first listen you can hardly believe hasn’t already been written.
“Hotter than the surface of the sun…One of the most exciting musicians on the planet.” John Kennedy, XFM
He is gradually picking up plaudits and, with the vinyl release of ‘Blinding Light”, it seemed that all his promise might finally be condensing into a serious wave of critical acclaim. So, for our first post of 2013, we thought it would only be right to once more swear that this ‘always-the-bridesmaid-never-the-bride’ Liverpudlian is set for huge things.
