2012 was a great year for bands. Peace, Swim Deep and Splashh made it out of the suburbs and up onto festival stages. Birmingham went from being London’s oft ignored kid brother to one of the best incubators of new talent in the Uk and The Vaccines made the leap from buzzband to headline act (although somewhat controversially) and we met Childhood. The boys, though still relatively unknown, gave us one of 2012’s best song’s in the form of the deliciously woozy ‘Blue Velvet’. They’ve now given Bond Girls (the B-side on the Blue Velvet vinyl) its day in the sun. Give it a spin above and brace yourselves for a year of plenty from the Nottingham crooners.
