Kins – Top & Turn

Birmingham’s not really had any challengers as a scene since Peace got big. In fact, if you asked us this morning we would have confidently predicted that the rule of B-town was going to be a defining feature of 2013. Following the drop of this new Brighton compilation we’re not so sure. The new Traams track was phenomenal and this Kins demo is even better. Merging the dark grooves of Canadians Suuns with Yeasayer’s penchant for disturbing lyrics they’ve dropped one of the most convincing bits of sound this side of summer 2012. A breathtakingly confident track ‘Top & Turn’ is everything -and more- that the band needed to take their sound to a wider audience.
