[Introducing] – Burning Beaches: A shot of gritty realism for B-town’s blue-sky slackers

Who: N/A

Where: London

Why We Care: There’s nothing worse than consensus. There’s nothing I’d hate to see more than Britain’s independent music scene turning into a breeding ground for trend-driven conformity. Although we love to feature Hawaiian draped slackers mumbling vague mantras over lo-fi guitars it can get a bit tedious when every. single. band. we get set claim the same influences, wear the same clothes and conform to the same idea of what it means to be young, talented and on-trend. Which is why its great to hear Burning Beaches, who’s name and sound bring to mind the triumphalist helicopter scene in Apocalypse Now, heading down a road that completely bypasses the Beach Boys and instead pays homage to a grittier, snarlier and altogether more visceral school of sound.

  1. Comparing a games performance between the iPhone 4 and the Nexus One is a terrible gauge of Androids gaming abilities. The Nexus Ones GPU is well established as being inferior to that of other high-end Android phones in 3D performance. Even the Droid 1, despite having a lower clocked CPU, has a superior PowerVR GPU, which enables far better 3D performance on the Droid 1 over the Nexus One. Between the Droid phones and the Samsung Galaxy lines, theres plenty of capable 3D hardware for Android.

  2. Utterly understand what your stance in this matter. Though Id disagree on some of the finer details, I feel you probably did an awesome job explaining it. Sure beats having to analysis it on my own. Thanks. Anyway, in my language, there arent a lot good supply like this.

  3. Nice blog, thanks for sharing the info. Its not too often that you come across a blog post where the writer knows what they are ranting about. Grammar and spelling are spot on as well, only problem I seemed to have was loading the webpage, seemed slow. Looks like other posters had the same problem?

  4. Let’s be real that woman can’t possible supply enough milk to nourish that baby calf. She’s wasting her efforts and is only doing it as a symbolic gesture. I just pray the cow doesn’t chew of her nipple when it starts teething

  5. I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog and was curious what all is needed to get set up? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very internet smart so I’m not 100% sure. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
