Juce – Burning Up

If imitation is the highest form of flattery, a whole host of early noughties girl-band drop outs are going  to be crying hot tears of joy into their faux-fur bucket hats very, very soon. Where ‘Call You Out’  was a ‘wink wink’  nod to Magic FM’s midday programming, ‘Burning Up’ is stripped almost verbatim from its dankest recesses. ‘London is burning, burning is turning, my city is burning up burning like the summer sun, this town is blazing up, summertime is just begun’ the chorus wails like the soundtrack to a hellish afternoon in the sticky halls of a sub-suburban T.K.Maxx. Terrible, but all the better for it.
