There’s not a lot standing between Fat White Family and the title of Britain’s most exciting band. All the same, they are. With their sophomore effort set to drop in Febuary 2016, and the wave building to a crest – they’ve dropped a new single. Trading the scrappy guitar led punk of their debut for a bass heavy, modular aesthetic, it builds on what they’ve achieved with their side-projects over the last year.
It’s a similar move to that which Swim Deep attempted with Mothers earlier in the year. The album title, Songs For Our Mothers, makes for a nice synchronisity, but the sound is more Suuns (try a double-time Up Past The Nursery) than Swim Deep.
